"We can do no great things, only small things with great love."
"Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work."
Mother Teresa, Our Patron Saint
"For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me."
Matthew 25-36,40
Mission Statement
The mission of the Mercy Works Ministry derives directly from the heart of Catholic tradition: Pope Francis said:
"I have proclaimed an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy as a special time for the Church, a time when the witness of believers might grow stronger and more effective."
The Mercy Works Ministry aims to identify those who are most in need and connect them with others to experience Christ's healing touch. In comforting the afflicted, we pray all will find their path to salvation.
In order to accomplish this mission, the Mercy Works Ministry will enhance and coordinate existing Pastoral Care and Christian Service programs and partner as appropriate with agencies and organizations within the county.
