June 8, 1964: Margaret O'Neil (who lived across the street from Holy Trinity) donated 10 acres of land in Sherman, CT to St. Edward the Confessor Parish in New Fairfield with the stipulation that the land could be used only for the construction of a church.
1975: Fundraising for what will become Holy Trinity Church begins.
May 1981: Ground breaking, on the land donated by Margaret O'Neil, takes place for a chapel to serve the needs of Catholics in Sherman. The ceremony is presided over by then-Bishop of Bridgeport, Walter Curtis. Mrs. O'Neil is given the honor of performing the ground breaking. The coming chapel would be designed by Sherman resident and parishioner, Ray Kelly.
December 19, 1981: The new chapel is dedicated in honor of the Holy Trinity and set up as a mission of St. Edward the Confessor in New Fairfield.
September 1982: Rev. David Riley, then a Curate at St. Edward the Confessor, is given the additional responsibilty of ministering to the Catholics of Sherman at Holy Trinity Chapel while commuting from New Fairfield.
June 3, 1985: Holy Trinity Chapel's status is changed to that of an independant parish. Fr. Riley is appointed as its first Pastor while continuing to reside at St. Edward Parish.
1987: A rectory for Holy Trinity Church is completed and Fr. Riley takes up residence.
1991: A multi-purpose space is added on to the existing church building and the interior of the church is reconfigured with a defined, permanent sanctuary from the multi-purpose area that it had been to this point.
1999: Fr. Riley is given a new assignment as Pastor of St. Cecilia Church in Stamford, CT and Msgr. George Birge is appointed as Pastor of Holy Trinity.
1999-2002: Msgr. George D. Birge serves as pastor.
2002-2006: Ref. Louis M Dytkowski serves as pastor.Rev. Paul G. Murphy serves as pastor.
2008-2010: Rev. Paul G. Murphy serves as pastor.
2010-2014: Rev. Alfred A. Riendeau serves as pastor.
2014-2021: Rev. Richard J. Gemza serves as pastor.
2021-2022: Rev. Nick A. Cirillo serves as administrator
2022: On July 1st Holy Trinity merged into St. Edward the Confessor Parish under the pastorship of Rev. Nick A. Cirillo.
